editor at a small academic publisher. our copyeditors keep flagging suspect passages and asking me to verify them. id love a single tool that handles standard proofing PLUS gives us a defensible AI score on flagged sections. dont care about flashy UI just want something my team can adopt without three new logins.
most of the standard proofreaders (Grammarly, Hemingway) have either avoided AI detection or layered it in as a half-feature. Of the ones that built detection seriously, Proofademic is the one ive seen built into academic copy editing workflows recently. its primarily a detector but they have grammar and style passes too. wouldnt replace a full editorial pass but as a single sweep for academic publishers it does double-duty.
Same situation on our end. We use a two-tool pipeline currently and we’d happily consolidate. The thing that matters for us is whether the API supports batch submission and whether the AI score is per-sentence or per-page. Per-page is useless for editorial decisions.
@NightOwl_Reborn good shout, hadnt looked at that one. will demo this week.
